The City of Brentwood is accepting applications from interested citizens for the following Commissions and Boards:
Planning Commission - Applicants for this commission must reside within the incorporated city limits. This five-member commission meets on the first and third Tuesday’s of each month at 7:00 p.m. The Commission recommends plans for the regulation of future growth and development and beautification of the city; and carries out the provisions of the zoning ordinance.
Contra Costa County Library Commission – The City is seeking an alternate representative to this Commission. The Commission meets on the last Thursday of each month in Pleasant Hill. The Commission provides oversight and recommendations concerning library programs, fund raising activities, the budget, and circulation.
Neighborhood Committee – The Brentwood Advisory Neighborhood Committee (BANC) is an advisory committee made up of residents from the city's 53 neighborhoods. Meetings are the fourth Wednesday of the month. The committee serves on special task forces to study city issues and to work on projects such as the committee’s "Home of the Month" program, and Christmas tree lighting held each November.
Arts Commission – Applicants for this Commission must reside within the city limits. This twenty-five member Commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The Commission encourages, stimulates, promotes and fosters programs for the cultural enrichment of the City which contributes to the quality of life in Brentwood and develops awareness in the business community, in local government, and in the general public of the value of the arts in Brentwood.
