| REGULAR MEETING November 17, 2011 at 7 p.m. Council Chambers Brentwood, CA 94513 CALL TO ORDER: Chair Lind called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present were Chair Blythe Lind, Vice Chair Alyssa Madden and Commissioners Sandra Myers, Bruce Mulder and Eileen Hofstadt. Staff members present were: Craig Bronzan, Director; Roger Stromgren, Park/Maintenance Manager; Poldina Scherff, Recreation Manager; Tammy Homan, Management Analyst; and Linda Stadlbauer, Administrative Assistant II. PRESENTATION(S): NONE CITIZEN COMMENTS: NONE CONSENT CALENDAR: Motion to approve Item 2 of Consent. Motion to approve Item 1 of Consent. SCHEDULED MATTERS: Motion to approve Item 3 of Scheduled Matters. 4. ACTION ITEM: Consider list of projects eligible for funding through the East Bay Regional Park District Measure WW Funds and make recommendation to City Council as to priority and timing of projects. (R. Stromgren) Director Bronzan reminded the Commission that they were not voting on a final design of these projects at this meeting, but rather to proceed with staff’s recommendation for the top three projects and their projected cost. Motion to approve staff’s recommendation to City Council for approval of the requested funds from Measure WW Bond Funds to be distributed as follows: $250K for the Special Needs Playground at Veterans Park; $125K for the retrofitting of King Park; and $200K for the retrofitting of the bocce courts at Veterans Park. Poldina Scherff advised the Commission that the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Friday, December 2 beginning at 6pm with music and refreshments, and finishing with the tree lighting at 7pm. This will take place at the Brentwood Senior Activity Center. She also advised the Commission that Item 7 of this meeting will be submitted to City Council for approval on December 13th. If passed, the first field user draft will take place on the next day, December 14th at 6pm. Commissioner Hofstadt volunteered to attend the draft meeting. Roger Stromgren presented a slide show with the events of our Veterans Day Celebration at Veterans Park on Friday, November 11. He updated the Commission on the Orchard Park shade structure; they have been repaired and replaced in the park. Also, the Parks Department has been busy installing much needed lights at various locations around town, including along Neroly Road and at Rolling Hills Park.
