Approve a Resolution accepting the work performed by Talus Construction, Inc. for sewer improvements known as Brentwood Boulevard Wastewater, CIP Project No. 592-5910, and directing the Agency Secretary to file a Notice of Completion with the Recorder’s Office of Contra Costa County for said project.
On May 22, 2001, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2299 adopting the 2001/2006 Capital Improvement Program including Brentwood Boulevard/Lone Tree Way Wastewater, CIP Project No. 592-5910, for sewer improvements in the north Brentwood area.
On August 28, 2001, the City Council authorized the City Engineer to proceed with design of Option “C” to make sanitary sewer service available for a portion of Brentwood Boulevard south of Lone Tree Way, proceed to bid the sanitary sewer improvements project (a portion of Brentwood Boulevard/Lone Tree Way Wastewater, CIP Project No. 592-5910) and return to Council with award of the construction contract.
On March 12, 2002, the City Council rejected all bids received for construction of a portion of Brentwood Boulevard/Lone Tree Way Wastewater, CIP Project No. 592-5910, and authorized staff to proceed to re-advertise the project for bid and return to Council for award of the construction contract.
On April 9, 2002 by Resolution No. RA-43, the Redevelopment Agency awarded the construction contract for a portion of Brentwood Boulevard Wastewater, CIP Project No. 592-5910, to Talus Construction, Inc.
A Notice to Proceed was issued and construction began on April 22, 2002. Talus Construction, Inc. has completed the work for the project per the plans and specifications. The City Engineering Inspector has no punch list items and the improvements are now ready for acceptance by the Redevelopment Agency.
The 2001/2006 CIP budget contains construction funds for this current phase of the project with 25% of the funds allocated from the Redevelopment North Brentwood Non-Housing Fund and 75% allocated from the Redevelopment Housing Set-Aside Fund. Approximate maintenance costs for the 500 LF of sewer line being installed will be $700.00 annually. The City will retain 10% ($14,692.63) of the contract amount for 35 days after acceptance by the Agency.
