About Us

The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to the wellbeing and quality of life of our community. We provide the best in programs, parks and services at a great value to our customers. Brentwood has approximately 242 developed acres of active parks in our park system, comprised of nearly 100 award winning parks and facilities, 19.2 miles of beautiful local and regional trails, and 63 miles of on street bike lanes.

Brentwood Celebrates Local Veterans & Active Service Members

Brentwood proudly celebrates our local veterans and active-duty service members and we want you to join in! You can show appreciation by participating in the activities below. 

1) Veteran Card Campaign (Due November 1, 2025) 

Share a message of thanks with a local veteran.

  • What to do: Write a brief, heartfelt note and sign your name. Please use a gender-neutral greeting (e.g., “Dear Veteran”).
  • Card guidelines: Homemade or store-bought are welcome. No enclosures (no photos, candy, or gift cards). Leave the envelope unsealed and do not address it.
  • Drop-off: Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak St.
  • Deadline: Saturday, November 1

2) Youth “Thank You, Veterans” Coloring Page (Due November 5, 2025)

Young residents are invited to express their gratitude through art.

  • How to participate: Pick up a coloring page at the Brentwood Community Center or the Brentwood Library, or print one at home.
  • Return completed artwork by: Wednesday, November 5, 2025

3) Veterans Day Parade (November 8, 2025 at  9:30 AM)

Come together to honor our heroes.

  • When & where: Saturday, November 8 at 9:30 AM, Downtown Brentwood
  • What to expect: A community celebration recognizing the service and sacrifice of veterans and active-duty personnel.
