BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY CELEBRATES A VIBRANT DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS
The Día de los Muertos festival hosted by Azúcar Dulcería was a colorful, well-attended gathering that honored Mexican tradition. Attendees enjoyed music, dance, and a rich display of heritage, including the Catrina parade, Aztec dancers, folklórico ballet, live music, and more. It was a great opportunity for our community to learn, connect, and celebrate the spirit of Día de los Muertos together.

2ND ANNUAL VETERANS DAY PARADE
The 2nd Annual Veterans Day Parade drew a strong crowd as residents filled the streets to celebrate and honor local veterans. The parade made its way down First Street and concluded at the Veterans Hall, where the community gathered for a ceremony featuring remarks from guest speakers, a vocalist performance, and a closing rifle salute followed by the playing of “Taps.” We look forward to seeing everyone again next year at this commemorative tradition.

ADOPT-A-SENIOR AND HELP SPREAD SOME HOLIDAY CHEER
Spread holiday cheer by taking part in Brentwood’s 5th annual Adopt-A-Senior program. Each year, community members sign up to “adopt” a local senior by providing gifts and a grocery card to brighten their holiday season. Seniors in the program are homebound, on limited incomes, or without nearby family, and your support makes a big difference.
Wish lists will be available in early November, and gifts will be due in early December. Sign-ups are open now for anyone who would like to participate.

HOW TO SAFELY DISPOSE HOUSEHOLD CLEANING PRODUCTS
Over the past few years, there have been about 10 fires at the transfer station caused by hazardous waste, including common cleaning products.
The correct way to dispose of cleaning products is through the Delta Diablo hazardous waste collection facility. Place the items in your vehicle’s trunk, pull up to the drop-off area, and their staff will unload them for you.
It’s fast, safe, and the right way to protect your home, your neighbors, and city staff.
