Getting the Scoop with the City Manager was held on April 22, with the City Manager joined by the City’s department directors, giving residents direct access to leadership across the organization. The event created an informal and welcoming setting where community members discussed current issues, asked questions, and engaged directly with City staff, all while enjoying ice cream and a relaxed community atmosphere.

 

If you missed this event, the City Manager will be hosting it quarterly, so stay tuned for future opportunities to connect and join the conversation.

The City of Brentwood is accepting applications from organizations for the Economic Development Grant Program. Grants will support projects designed to assist small businesses, enhance marketing initiatives, boost local tourism, sponsor community-based promotional events, or otherwise benefit Brentwood’s local economy.

 

Applications must be submitted by 11:50 p.m. (PT) on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

FINANCE

 

On April 14 at 5:30 p.m., the City Council held a public workshop on the proposed 2026/27 – 2030/31 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The CIP is a 5-year plan addressing the City’s future infrastructure needs. Included in the draft CIP are projects that support City Council priorities, for new infrastructure or facilities and for maintenance or replacement of existing infrastructure. The purpose of the workshop is to provide the public with the opportunity to offer input and feedback on the proposed infrastructure projects in the City.

In recognition of Employee Appreciation Day, the City extends a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated employees who serve the Brentwood community every day. From maintaining the City’s infrastructure and public spaces to providing essential services and support, City employees work hard behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.

 

To celebrate and recognize City employees, the Human Resources team recognized employees on the City’s employee engagement platform BEACON. BEACON celebrates individuals and teams who demonstrate outstanding service, collaboration, and commitment to the City’s mission and values. The City is proud of the incredible work our employees do each day and are grateful for their continued dedication to serving the community.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

 

 

 

Bring your bicycles, scooters and helmets on Saturday, May 9th from 10AM-2PM at the Senior Activities Center (193 Griffith Lane) for Brentwood Police Department's Bike Rodeo.

This is a free family-friendly event open to the entire community. Our officers will lead a variety of fun and educational activities designed to teach kids about bike safety. Meet our officers as they provide safety tips and answer any questions kids or parents may have.

Activities include:
- Bicycle obstacle courses
- Bicycle safety check
- Helmet fitting check
- Bicycle safety tips and education
-Car seat Inspections

 

 

The Brentwood Police Department proudly recognizes the vital role our Evidence Unit plays behind the scenes every single day.

 

By preserving evidence and ensuring the integrity of every case, their work is essential to the pursuit of justice. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and dedication often go unseen, but they are deeply appreciated.

 

We are especially proud of the two outstanding women who serve as our Evidence Technicians. Their commitment, expertise, and strong work ethic set the standard and strengthen our department in countless ways.

PUBLIC WORKS

Courtesy reminder notices were mailed to property owners on April 1, and official inspections of undeveloped parcels begin on May 15. This timeline allows the ground to dry sufficiently so that heavy equipment can access properties without becoming stuck. At this stage, tall green vegetation is generally acceptable; however, tall dry vegetation is not.

 

Please note that immediate safety concerns are addressed without waiting until May 15. If vegetation is blocking a sidewalk, obstructing a driver’s view, or is already dead and dry, residents are encouraged to report the issue to the Community Enrichment Division by calling (925) 516-5424 or by submitting a report through the City’s Brentwood Connect 24/7 app.

 

 

The City of Brentwood is providing an unlimited supply of free compost to City residents. This self-service station is located at the Recycling Water Fill Station at 2251 Elkins Way; follow the signs to the Recycled Water Fill Station. Although the supply is regularly replenished and remains limitless, the station operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents are responsible for bringing their own shovels and containers. Proof of residency may be required upon request.

2026 UNIFIED PROM

 

The Unified Prom is a district-wide celebration honoring Life Skills Students from Liberty High School, Heritage High School, Freedom High School, and the Gateway Program. This inclusive event brings together students, families, and the community for a memorable day of prom festivities.

 

The community is invited to come downtown at on May 2, at 5:30 PM, dressed in Star Wars-themed attire and cheer the students on as the parade travels down Oak Street.
