Brentwood Senior Citizen's Club, Inc.
Join our Family! The Brentwood Senior Citizen's Club, Inc. provides great opportunities to socialize with others and provides a link to a variety of resources, trips and activities. The Club is open to all adults, 50+ years of age. Club members receive discounts on select programs, activities, and special events throughout the year. Non-members are also welcome to participate, but generally pay a higher fee than Club members. As a member, you receive our bi-monthly newsletter keeping you up-to-date on what we are doing and what's new in our programs. Cost of the annual membership is $15.
Board Meetings take place at 9:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Senior Activity Center, 193 Griffith Lane. Interested individuals are welcome to attend and get involved!
Care Manager Services
Meals on Wheels Senior Outreach Care Managers help older adults locate resources and services that will enhance their lives. They are trained, experienced professionals that work closely with seniors and their families to understand the senior's needs and come up with a personalized care plan. A Care Manager assesses a senior's needs and identifies services to help meet those needs. They empower older adults as they cope with the challenges of aging. The Care Manager Facilitates family communication and works with adult children to design a care plan and then monitors progress to make sure the senior's goals are met. A Care Manager may also advocate on the senior's behalf and provide counseling and emotional support. There is no fee to work with a Care Manager. Personalized care plans are developed for each client. To find out if a Care Manager is right for you, call 925.937.8311. Contra Costa Senior Legal Services (CCSLS) - "Consult An Attorney" Program
Free general legal advice and self-help services will be available with a pro bono attorney sponsored by non-profit CCSLS. This program is for seniors age 60 and older residing in Contra Costa County. There are no income limitations for this clinic. Seniors can schedule an appointment at the Senior Activity Center reception desk or by calling 925.516.5380 to make a private, confidential appointment. Legal advice is available on a variety of matters including: housing (evictions), elder abuse (financial, physical, emotional), consumer problems or consumer debt; advance health care directives, financial powers of attorney, Social Security overpayments, and other issues. Seniors can be referred to many different organizations to get free or low-cost help when necessary.
CC Café - Senior Nutrition Site
In partnership with Contra Costa Health Services and the City of Brentwood, CC Café lunches provide 1/3 the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for healthy adults 60+. Food is prepared with no salt added. Menus are planned with your health in mind and are low in fat. CC Café meals are served Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Suggested donation of $2 per person. Reservations are required and must be made between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. the day before. Call CC Café at 925.516.5398 to make your reservation today. Contra Costa County Food Bank Brown Bag Program
In partnership with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Brown Bag Program, low income seniors receive free supplemental food twice per month. These groceries supplement the food seniors are able to purchase on their own. Food distribution is held at the Senior Activity Center on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10:30-11:30 a.m. To qualify for this program, you must resident in a low income household, live in Contra Costa County and be 55 years of age or order. The Brentwood site services Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay and Knightsen. Applications are available at the Senior Activity Center reception desk or by calling 925.676.7534.
Free Blood Pressure Checks
Free blood pressure checks are offered the 1st Monday of the month from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Pharmacy Consulting Services
A Registered Pharmacist (State of California) offerings FREE medication counseling and consultation on pharmacy issues to Brentwood Senior Activity Center participants twice per month: 1st Monday of the month from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP)
HICAP provides free and objective counseling and advocacy services to families who need assistance with Medicare enrollment and with issues involving Medicare and associated insurance programs. For an appointment, call 925.516.5380.
Dial-a-Ride is a transportation program for seniors and disabled individuals. To register, contact Tri Delta Transit at 925.754.6622.
Special Monthly Luncheons (Ages 60+)
Join the Brentwood Senior Citizen's Club, Inc. twice a month for their special luncheon featuring a variety of catered meals from CC Café. Enjoy a variety of entertainment such as entertainers, guest speakers, bingo, and special raffles. Advance reservations are required for these special luncheons, and are made by calling CC Café directly, weekdays between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at 925.516.5398 at least two days in advance. $2 suggested donation per person. The Monthly Luncheons are held on the second Friday and last Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m.
