The Brentwood Regional Community Chest, founded more than 50 years ago by Rose Pierce, supports local families during the holiday season. Each year, the organization provides up to 500 families in Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay, and Knightsen with a full holiday meal, canned food, and age-appropriate gifts for children. The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano distributes enough emergency and supplemental food each month to supply 2.7 million meals. The food drive focuses on non-perishable, shelf-stable items such as canned goods, dry pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and other packaged foods. Items should be unopened and unexpired.
