Arbor Day, recognized annually on the last Friday of April, is a time to celebrate the vital role trees play in creating healthier, more beautiful, and sustainable communities. Trees improve air quality, provide shade, conserve water, reduce erosion, support local wildlife, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents. Celebrating Arbor Day also highlights the importance of planting and caring for trees as a long-term investment in the environment and for future generations.

The City of Brentwood proudly celebrates Arbor Day each year on or around the nationally recognized Arbor Day observance as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and urban forestry.

On April 24, 2026, the City of Brentwood proudly celebrated National Arbor Day with a tree planting event that included three (3) London Plane Sycamores and nine (9) Multi Trunk Crape Myrtles at the Marsh Creek Trailhead. This annual tradition supports the City’s ongoing commitment to environmental care and its continued recognition as a Tree City USA community.

The event brought together Terracare, the City’s landscape maintenance contractor, Park and Recreation Commissioners Blyth Lind, Catherine Velasco, and Trudy Curto, along with City staff. Participants not only contributed to enhancing Brentwood’s green space but also gained valuable knowledge about proper tree planting techniques and long-term care.

Through efforts like these, the City of Brentwood continues to invest in a healthier, more sustainable future — one tree at a time.
