About Interim Police Chief Walter O'Grodnick
As your Interim Chief of Police, I welcome you to our website. We consider it a privilege to serve you whether you are a resident, business or visitor in our community. I am grateful to have spent the last 28 years of my law enforcement career serving this great city and strive to continue to provide the exceptional service our community deserves from our police department.
The Brentwood Police Department is a full-service police organization, serving the more than 65, 000 residents of Brentwood. Our sworn officers, professional civilian staff and volunteers, and cross-sections of other city departments work collaboratively and diligently to provide the highest level of professional service to our community. The work performed by our staff is guided by our Mission Statement: "To protect and enhance the quality of life through uncompromised dedication, professionalism and innovative police services" and our Core Values: "Integrity, Passion, Accountability, Respect, and Quality." Our goal is to maintain these standards every day. I hope your experience with any member of our organization is positive and helpful.

About Us
Established in 1948, the Brentwood Police Department services an area of approximately 14 square miles. The City is divided up into 4 separate, geographical beats. We serve a growing population that is approximately 64,513 residents. Our department currently has 72 sworn police officer positions and another 36 civilian support staff positions. In addition to our permanent staff, we have approximately 20 volunteers who are citizens of our community and assist us with our day to day operations.
